Rev. Sabi Mathew
Rev. Sabi Mathew serves as the Vicar of St. Stephen’s CSI Church, Manchester, providing spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and guidance to the congregation. His ministry emphasises prayer, the teaching of the Holy Scriptures, and compassionate service.

CSI Worship Centre Launched in York
For several years, many CSI families from North Eastern regions of England — from Newcastle to Sheffield — have been travelling nearly three hours to attend worship services at CSI Manchester. It is with great joy that the first official CSI worship service was inaugurated in York on February 18, Ash Wednesday.
This fellowship began in 2024 as small home prayer gatherings hosted by a few individuals in York. Over the past two years, regular house prayer meetings were organised across various parts of North East England, helping to identify and connect numerous CSI families in the region. Following continued discussions about establishing a local worship centre, the Manchester Church Committee extended the necessary support to make this vision a reality.
Under the special interest and leadership of the Manchester Parish, a Worship Centre has now been formally established in York.
It is encouraging to note that 26 families are actively present in York, and all of them participated in the inaugural worship service — a promising sign for future growth.
We pray that God will strengthen and prepare the faith communities in Manchester, York, and surrounding areas to grow as a parish. It is also our prayer that within the coming year, the ministry of a full-time priest will be made available to serve these regions.

Confirmation Service - 2026
We are deeply grateful for this meaningful and joyful moment in the history of St. Stephens CSI Church Manchester. Nineteen confirmation candidates from our congregation publicly affirmed their faith, filling our hearts with quiet gratitude.
We were truly blessed to have our dear Bishop, Rt Rev Dr Malayil Sabu Koshy Cherian, lead and bless the occasion with his profound spiritual insights, which touched not only the candidates but also their parents and the entire congregation.
We sincerely thank our vicar, Sabiachan, for his humble leadership and prayerful guidance in preparing both the candidates and the church family - serving as a True Shepherd to his flock.
The Bishop also graciously congratulated our church on its growth and activities over these past four years since his last visit to Manchester CSI congregation. He expressed appreciation for the thoughtful and wise decisions made by our general body and church committee regarding various projects and missions.
With heartfelt thanks, we acknowledge all parents and Sunday school teachers of the confirmation candidates for their unwavering dedication in strengthening God’s kingdom - your efforts are truly valued.
Lastly, we appreciate once again how harmoniously our church committee coordinated everything to bring this special service together. Above all else, we humbly praise God for His abundant mercies continually showered upon our congregation.
Charity Registration
It is a matter of great pride that our Church has received Charity Registration from the Government, which is essential for its full and recognized functioning in a foreign country.
Sincere gratitude to Mr. Stanley Varghese, the Treasurer of our Church for his amazing efforts along with the Sub Committee for the Charity Registration and the Church Committee for this historic occasion.
